Teen’s journey inspires him to ease the road for others

Five years ago, while David McNutt was playing outside, he felt funny. So he went in and did what many 12-year-old boys would do. He got a Fudgesicle and took it to his room. When he woke up, he was not at home; he was at Children’s Hospital.

David, now 17, of Burlington, doesn’t remember what happened in between, but the rest of his family does. His older brother and sister, Louis and Laura McNutt, were home that day, as were his mom and stepdad, Karen and Mark Brenneman.

Trip to meet Trump is boy’s wish come true

Ignacio Contreras may be only 13, but he’s already been to Donald Trump’s famous boardroom and aced his first audition as a budding apprentice.

The face-to-face visit with “The Donald” also proved a bonus for the eighth-grader from Vieau School on Milwaukee’s south side.

Contreras was the subject of a Journal Sentinel story last December that detailed how the bilingual student broke the news of his own cancer to his Spanish-speaking mom after he overheard doctors at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin discussing his condition in front of him in English.
