ABBY'S TOP DOG

Abby is a happy 4-year-old who hasn’t let Leukemia stop her from swimming, playing and having with her family’s big dog, Aboo. Unfortunately, the 9-year-old canine isn’t as interested in playing as much as Abby would prefer. Abby wished she had a dog that loved to swim and play ball, one that would explore the family’s Whitewater home with her, one she could take with her everywhere – even to the hospital.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation^® of Wisconsin granted Abby’s wish by giving her an enormous Newfoundland puppy named Roscoe.

“We are very grateful to have Roscoe, and love him already,” says Abby’s mom Kerry. “He is a good and gentle giant, and with time and training, he will be exactly the type of dog Abby wished for.”

Roscoe will receive that training when he attends obedience classes at the Kennel Club of Ft. Atkinson. Thanks to the Foundation, Roscoe will also receive his first year of veterinary check-ups from the Whitewater Vet Hospital, as well as all needed shots, immunizations and medications.

To celebrate Abby’s wish, she and her family were treated to a special tea party at Megan’s Enchanted Forest Tea Room, where Abby and her sister were treated like royalty. They received princess makeovers, complete with gowns, tiaras and make-up. To commemorate her wish, Craig Husar of Lyle Husar Designs even presented Abby with a black enameled pendant necklace – shaped just like Roscoe! Most importantly, Abby and her family got to take Roscoe on a PETCO shopping spree for all the supplies and toys Roscoe could ever want!

“All in all, I give Abby's wish a 10 out of 10,” says Kerry. “We received a new family member and memories that will last lifetimes.”
