WISH FAQs
Who is eligible to receive a wish?
To be eligible for a wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a referral for a child must be made after he or she is 2½ and before his or her 18th birthday. The child must have a life-threatening medical condition that will be verified by their physician. Any child who has already been granted a wish by the Make-A-Wish Foundation or another wish-granting organization is not eligible for a second wish.
Does family income, ethnicity or religion determine eligibility?
A child’s eligibility is based solely on medical qualification. Financial resources, ethnicity and religious beliefs play no part in the wish process.
Is the family included in the wish?
Every effort is made to include the child’s immediate family in the wish experience.
I’ve had a wish granted previously. Am I eligible for another wish?
No. Children who have had a wish granted by another organization or Make-A-Wish® chapter are not eligible to receive a second wish.
